The first hole of the Mariner Sands Green Course is a par 5, 550 yard beautiful behemoth. It's the third longest hole on the course (out done only by the 551 yard seventh and the 569 yard 14th holes) and makes up eight percent of the course's total yardage.
Keep the ball low on windy days, as getting up too high could send your ball into the lake that runs the length of the fairway. End up at one of the most beautiful greens on either of the Mariner Sands courses. But take care, over shoot the green and its a fast downhill slope to the water again.
Bonus: An early morning or later afternoon start can put you on this hole with an excellent course photo-op with the sun rising or setting on the flag.
